About
I have worked at a variety of different companies..Honeywell, Wells Fargo, USAA and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center to name a few. I have relocated from Phoenix to San Antonio and back again. I attended Arizona State where I obtained an MBA as well as Bachelor’s degree in Social and Behavioral Science.
I’m married to a red-headed attorney who can strike fear in the hearts of lesser men (and me). We have two children, ages 12 and 11. Because I’m in HR and my wife is a lawyer, our kids sound very different on the playground. One might talk about how their friend’s performance “could be better next time,” and the other threatens legal action to anyone who wrongs them. Our home also includes 3 dogs and a rat. There are days when I think the rat is the most prosperous one out of all of us.
I pursue many hobbies and interests in my personal time that include road trips, hiking, doing cool “dry ice” experiments with my kids, camping, building computers and writing. My interests in writing and reading include personal finance, stocks & investing, anything brain related, personal development, career coaching and leadership/motivational styles. I have probably read close to 100 books on personal finance alone. I have a loving affection for zombies, post-apocalyptic movies and comic books. You could say I’m a geek.
I still work in HR, teach Human Resources at night at a local community college. My intent with this blog is to continue to help people because it’s such a rewarding feeling.
